In the book “Yıldız Palace,” the structures, pavilions, kiosks, gardens, and functional units within the Yıldız Palace complex—spanning a vast area of 500,000 m² and bearing the traces of Sultan Abdülhamid II’s era—are documented, with particular emphasis on historically significant buildings such as the Great Mâbeyn, Çit Pavilion, Apartments of the Sultan’s Wife, and the Royal Garden. The book also features the establishment of new museum units, including the Yıldız Albums Photography Museum, the Furniture Museum, and the Kütübhâne-i Hümâyûn (Imperial Library), as well as the thousands of artifacts exhibited therein. Focusing on both the administrative and everyday life spaces of the palace, this work also documents the multifaceted institutions founded by Sultan Abdülhamid II at Yıldız, such as the theater, pharmacy, carpentry workshop, and even the zoo—offering a comprehensive and unique resource on the palace life of the Ottoman Empire in its final period.
